Published 10/14/2008

SUNY Binghamton University began construction on the $66 million Engineering and Science Facility in October of 2008. Located in Binghamton, N.Y., the 125,000-sf building will house flexible laboratories, offices, and incubator space. The two-story project represents an expansion of the Innovative Technologies Complex and will house the departments of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and computer engineering. Completion is expected in 2011. The facility will be constructed to meet LEED sustainable design standards and will feature technologies including heat recovery, passive solar energy, and geothermal heating and cooling.
