U.S. Department of Energy's Los Alamos National Laboratory has awarded a contract for comprehensive engineering design and construction services to a team comprised of San Francisco-based URS Corporation, Burns & Roe and Technical Design. The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract runs for five years, with five option years, and has a potential value of $25 million per year. The project team will provide the full range of planning, design, and construction-phase services needed for the rehabilitation or replacement of buildings and infrastructure, as well as the upgrading of processes at the facility. The award is part of a $1.5 billion, 10-year refurbishment plan being carried out by the University of California, which operates the lab on behalf of the Department of Energy.
