
Mr. Zerphy is the Assistant Dean for Operations for the College of Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University and Professor of Practice in the Ken and Mary Alice Lindquist Department of Nuclear Engineering. As Assistant Dean for Operations, he coordinates Facilities, Information Technology, Budget & Finance, Human Resources, and Data Analytics. His teaching and research focuses on cyber and physical security-by-design for nuclear facilities. He serves as Penn State’s representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) International Nuclear Security Education Network (INSEN), the faculty advisor for the Institute of Nuclear Materials Management (INMM) Penn State Student Chapter, and the INMM Security and Protection Division deputy for Next-Gen R&D. Prior to joining Penn State, he served in a variety of consulting positions supporting national security. He has a Master of Science of Strategic Intelligence (MSSI) degree from the National Intelligence University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the U.S. Naval Academy.
