University of Texas of the Permian Basin Builds Science and Technology Building

The University of Texas of the Permian Basin (UTPB) is constructing a $50 million science and technology building in Odessa. Slated for completion in January of 2011, the facility will house the departments of biology, chemistry, physics, and computer science. The project will provide 32 teaching and research labs, 59 offices, two 100-seat lecture halls, a 200-seat lecture hall, and a computer room. UTPB is also building the $81 million Wagner Noél Performing Arts Center. Completion is expected in September of 2011.

OSU College of Veterinary Medicine Plans BSL-2 Renovation

Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine is planning to renovate its research facilities in Columbus. Supported by $3.9 million in stimulus funding, the project involves renovation of 8,000-sf on the second floor of Goss Lab to create BSL-2 laboratories, offices, and a dedicated rodent phenotyping and infectious necropsy lab.

University of Dayton Relocates Research Institute

The University of Dayton will relocate its Research Institute to a 455,000-sf facility recently acquired from NCR Corporation in Dayton, Ohio. The move will enable the university to expand research and development operations in areas such as high performance materials, sensors, and nanotechnology. The facility will also house the Alumni Center, graduate classrooms, and conference space.
