OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center Builds Rockford Pavilion

OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center is building an $85 million addition to its campus in Rockford, Ill. Providing 78 private inpatient rooms, the four-story, 144,247-sf pavilion will physically connect to the existing hospital where semi-private rooms will be renovated, creating a total of 190 private rooms. General contractor Ringland-Johnson Construction broke ground on the facility in June of 2015 and completion is expected in early 2018.

Montclair State University Dedicates Center for Environmental and Life Sciences

Montclair State University dedicated the $55 million Center for Environmental and Life Sciences in October of 2015 in Montclair, N.J. Providing seven interdisciplinary research suites and six core labs, the five-story, 107,500-sf facility houses the Sokol Institute for Pharmaceutical Life Sciences, the Passaic River Institute, and the PSE&G Institute for Sustainability Studies. Designed by The S/L/A/M Collaborative, the center offers classrooms, offices, seminar rooms, a 100-seat lecture hall, and a microscopy suite.

West Virginia University Opens Advanced Engineering Research Building

West Virginia University opened the $43 million Advanced Engineering Research Building in October of 2015 on the Evansdale campus in Morgantown. Housing the Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources, the 63,000-sf facility provides 22,000 sf of interdisciplinary laboratory and research space and an 8,000-sf cleanroom. Classrooms, offices, and a learning center occupy the remaining 29,000 sf. The Advanced Engineering Research Building was designed Stantec and built by Massaro Corporation.

Trinity Health Plans Mercy Hospital Renovation

Trinity Health is planning a $271 million renovation and expansion of Mercy Hospital in Muskegon, Mich. The project includes construction of a new tower and consolidation of existing departments including obstetrics, behavioral health, and emergency services at the Mercy campus. The completed hospital will support the delivery of integrated patient care in a facility designed as a model of modern healthcare operations.

Metropolitan State University Breaks Ground on Aerospace and Engineering Sciences Building

Metropolitan State University broke ground on the $60 million Aerospace and Engineering Sciences Building in October of 2015 in Denver. Located on the Auraria campus, the 142,000-sf facility will support programs in industrial design, aviation and aerospace, engineering, computer science, and computer information systems. Featuring laboratories for advanced manufacturing and 3D printing, the building will support collaborative teaching and research with industry partners such as Lockheed Martin.
