Mercedes Medical Constructs Bradenton Headquarters

Mercedes Medical, a national distributor of laboratory products, will construct its 54,667-sf headquarters in the Lakewood Ranch development in Bradenton, Fla. The $7.5 million building will provide executive offices, a distribution center, and air-conditioned warehouse space. The project was designed by Flad Architects and Stantec and will be built by Halfacre Construction Company. Completion is expected in fall of 2018.

San Diego State University Dedicates Engineering and Interdisciplinary Sciences Complex

San Diego State University dedicated the $95 million Engineering and Interdisciplinary Sciences Complex in January of 2018. Designed by AC Martin Architects to promote interaction and collaboration, the 85,000-sf project provides 11,500 sf of instructional space and 17 multidisciplinary labs with advanced instrumentation. The five-story facility features a nanofabrication suite, a creative design center, and an entrepreneurship hub.

Sanofi Genzyme Expands in Framingham

Sanofi Genzyme is expanding its presence in the Framingham Technology Park in Massachusetts where its $80 million, 72,000-sf biomanufacturing facility is currently under construction. A two-story, 14,821-sf addition to the project will enable Sanofi Genzyme to increase its production capacity for advanced therapeutics.

IU Health Breaks Ground on Bloomington Regional Academic Health Center

Indiana University Health broke ground in January of 2018 on the $400 million Bloomington Regional Academic Health Center. Supporting collaborative interprofessional education, the 735,000-sf complex will include a technology-rich simulation training center and the $45 million, 115,000-sf Academic Health Sciences building to accommodate programs in medicine, nursing, social work, dentistry, and speech and hearing sciences.
