OrthoNeuro Creates Austin Surgical Hospital

Charlotte, N.C.-based OrthoNeuro Corp. is creating its first specialty hospital in Austin. OrthoNeuro is redeveloping the former Renaissance Women's Center into the Austin Surgical Hospital, slated to open in spring of 2003. The renovation includes 50,000 sf of the four-year-old facility, adding six operating rooms, two procedure rooms, 25 inpatient rooms, and an intensive care unit. A rehabilitation center, an expanded imaging department, and a clinical laboratory will enable the hospital to provide various ancillary services.

Pabst Brewing Co. Relocates Corporate Offices

San Antonio-based Pabst Brewing Co. has relocated its corporate offices from the 22-acre Pearl Brewery site to 22,000 sf in North Central San Antonio's Interpark business park. The move is part of an effort to consolidate in San Antonio offices and functions previously dispersed cross-country. Pabst has also relocated warehouse functions from Milwaukee to 35,000 sf of leased warehouse space in the Alamo Downs business park on the Northwest Side.

Carter Holdings To Open New Distribution Center

Carter Holdings, a maker of children's clothing, has leased 500,000 sf of warehouse space at Eagle's Landing TradeCenter III in Henry County, Ga. The distribution center, Carter's fourth distribution facility in Georgia, will be operational in April 2003.

University of San Diego Develops Degheri Alumni Center

The University of San Diego has selected general contractor Douglas E. Barnhart Inc. and architect Wheeler Wimer Blackman & Associates, both of San Diego, to create the $6.3-million Degheri Alumni Center. The 30,425-sf facility, built on the site of the former Harmon Hall, is slated for completion in November 2003. The building will serve as a hospitality center and provide space for the university's communication and marketing departments, alumni relations, parent relations, and fund-raising.
