Community School of Music and Arts Campus Nears Completion
The Community School of Music and Arts is nearing completion of its $1.6 million, 25,000-sf campus in Mountain View. The two-story facility, which houses classrooms, a concert hall and practice rooms, includes significant architectural accommodations for state-of-the-art acoustics. The public grand opening of the campus is scheduled for March 18, 2004.
PeopleSoft Completes Building G
PeopleSoft completed the 185,000-sf Building G at its Pleasanton, Calif., headquarters in July of 2003. The project was designed by architects Gensler and RMW and built by contractor San Jose Construction Company. The project was completed after fifteen months of construction.
Potomac Hospital Expands Woodbridge Campus
Potomac Hospital broke ground in October 2003 on a 180,000-sf addition to its Woodbridge, D.C., hospital. The four-story, 144-bed facility will replace the inpatient care units as well as housing support services, a cafeteria, and an education center. Designed by McCulloch England Associates, the $75 million project is being constructed and managed by Bovis Lend Lease and Twin Contracting. Completion is scheduled for December 2005.
Poway Unified School District Builds Oak Valley Middle School
Poway Unified School District has selected Douglas E. Barnhart, Inc. to build the $23 million Oak Valley Middle School. Designed by NTD Architects of San Diego, the 106,000-sf school will be comprised of five classroom buildings, administrative offices, a gymnasium, a multipurpose room, and outdoor sport facilities. Construction will begin in January 2004 and reach completion in May of 2005.
Biocom Plans San Diego Biotechnology Training Center
Biocom, a San Diego life sciences group, will work with educational and corporate organizations to create the San Diego Multiuse Biotechnology Training Center. The planned facility will train San Diego's future biotech workforce and will be funded by government grants and public-private partnerships.
