Triangle Brick Constructs Wadesboro Plant

Durham-based Triangle Brick Co. is constructing a 300,000-sf manufacturing plant in Wadesboro, N.C. The $35-million facility will accommodate 50 employees and will bring the company’s manufacturing capacity to 500 million standard brick units. The facility is sited next to an existing Triangle Brick plant.

Los Angeles City College Designs Martin Luther King Library

Los Angeles City College has selected The Steinberg Group to design its new $13.7-million Martin Luther King Library. Slated for completion in 2005, the 64,000-gsf facility will house the existing Learning Skills Center, the All Campus Computer Lab, and learning disabilities and classroom study areas. The library will serve as the new gateway to the campus with plazas to the south and east. It will be constructed on the site currently accommodating the men’s gymnasium.

FBI Develops Tampa Office

The General Services Administration has awarded Highwoods Properties of Raleigh, N.C., the $26.6-million contract to develop a 112,000-sf office for the FBI in Tampa, Fla. The cost of the project includes a seven-acre land purchase. Construction is slated to begin in mid-2004.

NASA Seeks Developer for Moffett Field Conference Center

NASA is seeking a developer for the planned 225,000-sf Conference and Education Center at the 213-acre NASA/Ames Research park located in Moffett Field, Calif. The $35-million project will feature 35,000 sf of meeting space, providing the sixth-largest conference facility in Silicon Valley.
