Huntsman Cancer Institute Breaks Ground on Vineyard Comprehensive Cancer Center

Huntsman Cancer Institute broke ground on the Vineyard Comprehensive Cancer Center in April of 2025 in Vineyard, Utah. Designed by Architectural Nexus and Sasaki, the 272,000-sf facility will expand access to world-class treatment for the rapidly growing population in the state and the greater Mountain West region. The five-story clinical care building will be connected to a three-story research structure by a community engagement and education hub with conference rooms. Representing an estimated investment of $400 million, the transformative development will provide radiation oncology, endoscopy, screening and early detection, and integrative health services. Multidisciplinary cancer clinics will be augmented by infusion suites and advanced imaging capabilities, as well as a pharmacy and an acute care clinic.

Planned research offerings will include access to clinical trials with leading-edge cancer therapies, and computational oncology and data science programs that leverage AI-powered technologies for discovery, prevention, and treatment. Academic partnerships with Utah Valley University and Brigham Young University will enable hands-on training for the next generation of scientists and healthcare providers. Innovation will be enhanced by collaboration with affiliates in the nearby Silicon Slopes cluster. 

Layton Construction began site work on the project in November of 2024 and occupancy is anticipated in fall of 2028. Spectrum Engineers is providing electrical, audiovisual, acoustical, and radio frequency engineering services. Future phases of development may include an inpatient and surgery center.
