Brown University is constructing a 76,000-sf indoor turf facility to expand capacity for varsity, intramural, and recreational sports activities. Designed by Sasaki, the versatile building will address a critical need for year-round indoor practice space, offering a controlled environment where athletes can maintain their competitive edge regardless of weather conditions. The state-of-the-art field will be lined for football, lacrosse, soccer, and rugby, with divider curtains providing additional flexibility by enabling teams to split the field in halves or thirds.

Featuring a 2,500-sf strength and conditioning section, the spacious venue aims to alleviate scheduling conflicts between varsity sports teams, as well as increasing recreational access for students, faculty, staff, and the extended Brown community. The indoor turf facility will enhance intramural sports programs and promote greater undergraduate participation, as well as creating opportunities for group fitness and wellness.

Consigli Construction is acting as lead contractor and construction manager. Ground was broken in June of 2024 and completion is slated for January of 2026.
