Meta Plans $10 Billion AI Data Center in Louisiana

Published 1/9/2025

Meta will construct an advanced data center in Louisiana to drive innovation in artificial intelligence (AI). Representing an investment of over $10 billion, the custom-designed complex in Richland Parish will encompass approximately 4 million sf. The company is also spending $200 million to improve local infrastructure, offering substantial community benefits and catalyzing economic growth.

In partnership with Entergy, the development includes a commitment to supply at least 1,500 megawatts of new renewable energy to the grid. The project advances Meta's mission of water stewardship and the 2,250-acre site is slated to use less water than it does today.

Built by Turner Construction, DPR Construction, and M.A. Mortenson, the complex will be delivered using local labor and materials. Ground work began in December of 2024 and completion is expected in 2030.
