Cleveland Clinic is planning to construct a 210,000-sf sports science facility that will also serve as the new home for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Populous designed the Global Peak Performance Center to support the health of athletes of all levels while positioning the city as an international destination for wellness.

Offering comprehensive care for both the general public and elite athletes, the four-level structure will house advanced training suites with sophisticated monitoring equipment, as well as specialty clinics for orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, cardiology, pulmonology, neurology, exercise physiology, nutrition, genetics, and psychology. The center will leverage artificial intelligence, drawing on big data repositories, to gain novel insights about human performance which will be translated to other populations, including medical patients, first responders, and the military.

Delivered by Bedrock, the project will anchor the $3.5 billion, 35-acre Cuyahoga Riverfront development. Groundbreaking is expected in late 2024.
