Orange Coast College broke ground in December of 2019 on the $68.9 million Language Arts and Social Science Building in Costa Mesa, Calif. Designed by tBP/Architecture, the 95,000-sf facility will provide classrooms, faculty and administrative offices, a dedicated suite with a computer lab for programs in English as a Second Language, and labs for sociology, anthropology, geography, and language arts. Offering two elevators, a lactation room, and gender-neutral restrooms on every floor, the three-story facility will also include a journalism newsroom and space for the theater, debate, and speech teams. The second floor of the structure will physically connect to the existing Mathematics, Business, and Computing Center Building. C.W. Driver is the construction manager for the project, which is slated for completion in summer of 2021.
