Located on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus, the 12-story, 410,000-sf project is a teaching hospital for the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. The 185-bed facility is a Level 1 pediatric trauma center, housing a 64-bed neonatal ICU with private rooms, a pediatric ICU with 20 private rooms, and a labor and delivery department. Offering comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services, the hospital also accommodates a joint pediatric hematology/oncology unit that was created in partnership with Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. The facility was designed by Shepley Bullfinch and built by Turner Construction, with CannonDesign as MEP engineer, DiDonato Associates as civil engineer, and Simpson Gumpertz & Heger as structural engineer. Ground was broken on the project in October of 2014.
