Fakeeh Academic Medical Center has awarded Habtoor Leighton Group a $127 million contract to construct the first phase of its teaching hospital campus in Dubai. The facility will accommodate five centers of excellence in the areas of cardiology, pulmonary medicine, orthopedics, endocrinology and diabetes, and emergency medicine. The 150-bed integrated hospital will feature an automated medication dispensing system and robotic surgery technologies. Completion is expected in October of 2017. The second phase of construction will then begin to create a medical university adjacent to the hospital.
