The $850 million Queen Elizabeth Hospital opened in July of 2012 in Birmingham. Designed by BDP, the 1,213-bed facility comprises three towers and includes a new psychiatric hospital. The project was built by a joint venture of Balfour Beatty Construction and Haden Young. The facility was created by the National Health Service (NHS) and is affiliated with the University of Birmingham.
