Carolinas HealthCare System is planning a $57 million expansion of its CMC-Union hospital in Monroe, N.C. The project includes 87,000 sf of new construction and renovation of 22,500-sf in the existing facility. A new bed tower providing an additional 25 acute care beds will be built. The tower will also house women’s services and support. The facility containing the hospital’s generator, chillers, and cooling tower will be expanded. Completion is expected in 2015.
