Baylor University Medical Center opened the $154 million Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center in Dallas in March of 2011. The 10-story, 459,717-sf facility was developed by a joint venture of Duke Realty and Mutual Life Insurance Co. The building is occupied by Baylor Health System and Texas Oncology with space for physician offices. The center houses linear accelerators, diagnostic imaging, multidisciplinary clinics, infusion therapy suites, research facilities, and space for clinical trials. Construction began on the project in April of 2009. LEED Gold sustainable design certification will be sought for the facility.
