Southeast Georgia Health System began construction in January of 2011 on a $10.9 million orthopedic and spine center in Brunswick. Housing 31 private rooms, the facility will provide facilities for orthopedic care, sports medicine, and joint replacement surgery. The center will be located in the existing St. Simons hospital tower, which will be renovated to house updated HVAC, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
