Rady Children's Hospital Opens Acute Care Pavilion

Rady Children’s Hospital and Health Center completed construction of the $260 million Acute Care Pavilion in August of 2010. Located in Kearney Mesa, Calif., the 279,000-sf facility provides 72 private patient rooms, 84 medical-surgical beds, 16 operating rooms, a neonatal ICU, and a cancer center. The four-story project was designed by Anshen + Allen of San Francisco and built by McCarthy of St. Louis. Ground was broken on the project in December of 2007 and occupancy is expected in October of 2010. LEED sustainable design certification is being sought for the facility.
