Published 6/30/2010

The Department of Veterans Affairs broke ground on an $800 million VA hospital in New Orleans in late June of 2010. Slated for completion in 2013, the medical complex will replace facilities damaged by Hurricane Katrina. The 1.7 million-sf project will include 200 inpatient rooms, 300 exam rooms, and 20 surgical suites. The hospital will also provide emergency, rehabilitation, and mental health services.
