University of Tennessee Medical Center opened its new $26 million Heart Hospital in April of 2010. Located in Knoxville, Tenn., the four-story tower will provide inpatient facilities for the hospital’s Heart Lung Vascular Institute. The project team included general contractor Johnson & Gaylon and architectural firm BarberMcMurry. The facility is attached to the existing medical center and features an endoscopy lab and a cardiovascular ICU with 24 private beds.
