University of Minnesota Builds Science Teaching Facility

The University of Minnesota is building the $72.5 million Science Teaching and Student Services building in Minneapolis. The facility was designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates and is slated for occupancy in September of 2010. Construction began on the project in early 2009. The building features 10 active learning classrooms to support a progressive pedagogy for small groups. The facility will also house 17 multipurpose classrooms and two lecture halls. LEED Gold sustainable design certification will be sought for the project.
