Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Breaks Ground on Charleston Facility

Ground was broken in December of 2010 on the $220 million Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Charlestown, Mass. Designed by Perkins + Will, the 250,000-sf facility will house clinical space, research labs, 132 private patient rooms, an auditorium, a medical library, an aquatic therapy center, administration, and conference rooms. The facility will meet and exceed all current ADA accessibility standards and is expected to attain LEED Silver sustainable design certification. Walsh Brothers is providing construction management and contracting services.
