Parkland Memorial Hospital Breaks Ground on Replacement Facility

Parkland Memorial Hospital broke ground in November of 2010 on a $1.27 billion replacement facility in Dallas. Designed by HDR of Omaha and Corgan Associates of Dallas, 1.9 million-sf project is being built by Balfour Beatty Construction, Austin Commercial, H.J. Russell & Co., Azteca Enterprises, and CH2M Hill Enterprise Management Solutions. The 17-story, 862-bed hospital will be accompanied by separate clinic, medical office, and support buildings. Completion is slated for May of 2014. LEED sustainable design certification will be sought for the facility.
