MURFREESBORO, TENN.
Ascension Health opened the $267 million Middle Tennessee Medical Center in November of 2010. Located in Murfreesboro, the 561,000-sf replacement hospital provides 12 operating rooms, 11 labor and delivery suites, an intensive care unit, emergency, imaging, and a central energy plant. The 286-bed facility was designed by Gresham, Smith and Partners (GS&P) using evidence-based design principles and built by Turner Construction. Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), Building Information Modeling (BIM), and Lean Construction practices helped deliver the project under budget and ahead of schedule.
