Sutter Health Builds Alta Bates Patient Care Pavilion

Published 10/25/2010

Alta Bates Summit Medical Center broke ground on a $350 million patient care pavilion in Berkeley, Calif., in October of 2010. Designed to meet state seismic regulations, the 11-story facility will provide 238 private patient rooms. The sustainably designed pavilion is expected to open in 2014. The project includes creation of a 21,000-sf emergency room in the existing Bechtel Hall and construction of a 1,000-space parking garage. Alta Bates Summit Medical Center is owned by Sutter Health.
