U.S. Navy Initiates Guam Energy Renovations

The U.S. Navy awarded Johnson Controls a $34.1 million contract in August of 2009 to perform energy efficiency renovations at Apra Harbor Base in Guam. The project will cut use of electricity by 6.4mwh annually and create $1.7 million in annual savings. A large photovoltaic system will be installed, and HVAC and lighting systems will be upgraded. Johnson Controls’ Metasys building management system will also be implemented to integrate operations for the base’s 49 buildings.
