SEHA Plans Abu Dhabi Hospitals

SEHA, the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company, is planning to construct two world-class hospitals in Mafraq and Al Ain in Abu Dhabi. Replacing existing hospitals, the sustainably-designed facilities are expected to open in 2013. Designed by Burt Hill with Allen and Shariff as project manager, the 245,000-sm Mafraq hospital will provide 690 beds. The 358,000-sf, 688-bed Al Ain hospital will serve as the Regional Center of Excellence for Rehabilitation and is expected to become a research center and teaching hospital affiliated with the United Arab Emirates University. The Al Ain facility is being designed by a joint venture of ICME Healthcare, Faust Consult Architects & Engineers, and Obermeyer Engineering Consulting. The project manager is Allen and Shariff.
