University of Texas Dallas Initiates $130M in Campus Construction

The University of Texas Dallas is engaged in over $130 million in campus construction. The projects include:

  • Founders Hall will undergo a $27.8 million renovation to house a computer lab, classrooms, and offices. The project was designed by F&S Partners of Dallas. Completion is expected in fall of 2009.
  • Construction will begin in summer of 2009 on a $27.5 million, 75,800-sf student services building. The project was designed by Perkins+Will and Peter Busby with Hill and Wilkinson as construction manager-at-risk. Completion is slated for 2010.
  • A 700,000-sf arts and technology facility, housing classrooms and teaching labs, will begin construction in late summer of 2010 with completion expected in 2013.
  • A $37.8 million dormitory and dining hall complex is currently under construction. The project architect was originally Carter Burgess and is now Jacobs Engineering Group. The construction manager-at-risk is Austin Commercial.
  • Construction began in early 2009 on the 74,000-sf Math, Science, and Engineering Teaching (MSET) Learning Center. The $29.7 million facility was designed by Kell Munoz and is being built by Adolfson & Peterson Construction. Completion is expected in 2010.
