Recovery Funding Initiates Fort Hood Hospital Construction

The United States Army will begin construction in mid-2009 on a $708 million military hospital in Fort Hood, Texas. Supported by funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the replacement hospital will provide comprehensive ambulatory and ancillary care services. The project cost includes $87 million for design and $621 million for construction. Completion is expected in 2011.
