University of Nottingham Opens Jubilee Campus Phase II

Published 3/8/2009

The University of Nottingham officially opened the £30 million Jubilee Campus Phase II in March of 2009. Located on a former brownfield site in Nottingham in the United Kingdom, the sustainably-designed project includes the Sir Colin Campbell Building, housing the University's Technology Transfer Office and a business incubator; the International House; and the Amenities Building, which provides lecture and seminar rooms, student services, and dining. The Jubilee Campus Phase II was designed by Make Architects and will support research in the fields of carbon capture and storage, energy technology, and sustainable construction. The 10,400-sm project features a lake-coupled reversible heat pump system providing 100 per cent of all heating and cooling requirements for the three new buildings, which are constructed with high performance facades and an energy monitoring system.
