Lourdes Health System broke ground on the $211 million Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, La., in December of 2009. The six-story, 396,000-sf replacement hospital is slated for completion in July of 2011. Initially housing 164 beds, the facility is designed to expand to eight stories for a total of 332 beds in the future. The hospital will provide emergency, surgery, imaging, trauma, pharmacy, and laboratory services. Construction will begin on an adjacent 180,000-sf medical office building in 2009.
