Dell Children's Medical Center Attains LEED Platinum

Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas was awarded LEED Platinum certification for sustainable design in January of 2009. The $200 million facility is sited on a 32-acre brownfield site in Austin that required extensive remediation. The project features extensive daylighting, low flow water fixtures, and building materials that are locally sourced or recycled and low in volatile organic chemicals. The facility is the first hospital in the world to attain LEED Platinum certification.
