Published 12/12/2009

The University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine celebrated the completion of the $140 million Roberts Proton Therapy Center in December of 2009. Designed by Tsoi/Kobus & Associates, the 75,000-sf facility is located primarily in an underground building connected to the Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine. The Roberts Proton Therapy Center is fully integrated with the Abraham Cancer Center and is the largest proton therapy facility associated with an academic medical center. Comprised of five treatment rooms, four gantries, and one fixed-beam room, the facility will treat approximately 3,000 patients annually.
