West Virginia University Dedicates Biomedical Research Center

West Virginia University dedicated the $43 million Biomedical Research Center and the $17.5 million Health Sciences Learning Center in Morgantown in August of 2008. The four-story, 120,000-sf Biomedical Research Center houses the Multiple Sclerosis and Neurodegenerative Diseases Research Center, the Sensory Neurosciences Research Center, and other biomedical research facilities. The $18 million Health Sciences Center Library and Center for Learning combines library and classroom facilities in a progressive design that includes lecture halls, auditoria, and a national center for Positron Emissions Tomography (PET) education. The Center for Learning was completed in January of 2007. WVU is also constructing the $30-million Blanchette Rockefeller Neurosciences Institute (BRNI) building, slated for occupancy in September of 2008.
