McLaren Health Care Constructs Independence Township Campus

McLaren Health Care is constructing the McLaren Health Care Village in Independence Township, Mich. The first $100 million phase broke ground in July of 2007 and is slated for completion in spring of 2009. The 135,000-sf Clarkston Medical Group building, housing a 17,000-sf ambulatory surgery center, will be accompanied by the 32,000-sf Great Lakes Cancer Institute and a 10-acre healing garden. The project team includes architectural firm RTKL, general contractor George Auch Construction, developer Northern Equities, and construction manager Cunningham-Limp. The second construction phase will include a 200-bed hospital, a 60,000-sf cardiac center, and a 50,000-sf medical office building. A planned third phase will be comprised of two additional 50,000-sf medical office buildings and a 100-bed expansion of the hospital. Total project cost is estimated at $600 million for the construction of one million square feet.
