ST. LOUIS, MO.
Washington University is initiating construction on the $235 million BJC Institute of Health at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Housing the University’s BioMed 21 translational research initiative, the 70,000-sf, 11-story facility was funded in part by a $30 million donation from BJC Healthcare. Slated for completion in December of 2009, the facility will house five BioMed laboratories with support and two School of Medicine academic departments. Half of the facility will be occupied by Barnes-Jewish Hospital at a cost of $121 million.
