Thermo-Gel Provides Biodegradable Fire Protection

Published 6/5/2008

Thermo-Gel® is a biodegradable fire retardant composed of nontoxic polymers that can be applied to properties and grounds to eliminate damage from flames and charring. Used by professional fire fighters, Thermo-Gel can be added to water to coat surfaces, buildings, shrubs, and vehicles, as well as creating a fire-free zone around structures. Thermo-Gel is not harmful to city water supplies, groundwater, surface or spring water, or animals. It is available in larger quantities for use in combating dangerous, highly energy-rich fires, such as those that reach plastics facilities, waste incineration plants, tire warehouses, and tank farms. Additionally, Thermo Technologies recently announced that it has teamed with The Chubb Group of Insurance Companies and Wildfire Defense Systems, Inc., a Montana-based fire-fighting company, to provide wildfire property protection to Chubb policyholders in 13 western states.
