University of Virginia Dedicates McIntire School of Commerce

The University of Virginia dedicated the McIntire School of Commerce in Charlottesville in May of 2008. Construction manager Gilbane Building Company partnered with architect Hartman-Cox on the 138,000-sf construction/renovation project which included a 114,000-sf addition to Rouss Hall named Robertson Hall. Rouss was also renovated and consolidated with the new addition to form a single building to accommodate the McIntire School of Commerce. The Robertson Hall addition includes traditional classrooms, large fixed-seat and tiered lecture halls, instructor and administrative offices, extensive conference and training rooms – all with state-of-the-art communication technologies. The facility also includes executive education offices, a trading floor, and food service. High-quality finishes throughout the academic spaces includes extensive custom wood paneling, stainless steel, and glass railing systems.
