Published 5/14/2008

The Mayo Clinic dedicated the W. Hall Wendel Jr. Musculoskeletal Center in May of 2008. The 245,000-sf center houses 57 examination rooms, eight outpatient operating rooms, four image-guided injection rooms, and a rehabilitation/physical medicine center. The multidisciplinary orthopedic facility features an integrated design that allows patients to obtain imaging, consultation, and treatment in a single location. Funded by a $27.5 million gift, the facility is located on floors 14 and 15 of the $375 million, 1.5 million-sf Gonda Building in Rochester, Minn. The Gonda building began construction in 1998 and is designed to eventually reach a height of 30 floors.
