Kumho Tires broke ground on a 34,843-sm research and development center in Young-In, South Korea, in May of 2008. The $68 million facility will serve as the company’s global R&D hub and will house chemistry labs and advanced product testing technologies. Slated for completion by year-end 2009, the sustainably designed facility will be certified as a “green” building by Korea's Housing & Urban Research Institute.
