Indiana University Bloomington Plans Capital Projects

Indiana University Bloomington approved seven construction projects in May of 2008, for a total of 13 capital projects on campus (planned or under way) totaling $340 million. The recently approved projects include:

  • a $47 million, 160,000-sf International Studies building housing offices, classrooms, and support
  • the $44 million, 146,600-sf Jacobs School of Music studio building, housing 135 teaching studios, practice rooms, classrooms, and offices
  • a $15 million renovation of University Theater
  • the $80 million Ashton Housing Complex comprised of 837 one-, two- and four-bedroom housing units and 20,000-sf of classroom and program space
  • a $9.5 million, 22,500-sf addition to the Auxiliary Library Facility
  • an $8 million, 40,000-sf classroom and office building
  • a $10 million business incubator

Projects currently under way include:

  • the $51.7 million Multidisciplinary Science Building II
  • a $30 million data center
  • the $3 million Hutton Honors College building
  • the $55 million Memorial Stadium and basketball facility project
  • a $3 million optometry clinic
