Spartanburg Regional Constructs Stainless Steel Surgical Suite

Published 3/17/2008

Spartanburg Regional Medical is constructing a $26 million surgical suite at its hospital in Spartanburg, S.C. Featuring stainless steel walls for maximum sterility and flexibility, the project is slated for completion in August of 2008. 32,000-sf of the 45,000-sf suite will be constructed with stainless steel walls, enabling reconfiguration of the space as they can be moved within a few days with the nearby rooms remaining usable. The durability of steel eliminates cracks which are a sterility challenge. The suite will feature acrylic floors. The project will double the size of Spartanburg’s existing surgical suite. The wall manufacturer is Maquet of Germany.
