Comprised of a 15,000-sf addition to the 1920s science building, the project will increase the facility’s footprint from 60,000-sf to 75,000-sf. The new James Hall will house the departments of natural resources and earth sciences and is slated for completion in December of 2009. The building will feature a wildlife wet research lab, a walk-in environmental chamber, and climate controlled rooms. LEED Silver sustainable design certification will be sought for the project. The construction manager for the project is Shawmut Design and Construction.
