Published 9/8/2007

Emory University School of Medicine opened the Emory School of Medicine Building in Atlanta in early fall of 2007. The $58.3 million, 162,000-sf medical education facility will allow for a 15 percent increase in class size and will enable Emory to fulfill the teaching needs of its new interdisciplinary curriculum with a focus on integration of clinical sciences and patient interaction. The project is comprised of three buildings, a central building newly constructed and two completely renovated facilities. The central building features the Emory Center for Experiential Learning housing simulators for technical skills training in four flexible suites and 16 clinical exam rooms. The School of Medicine Building also houses three 160-seat auditoriums, four seminar rooms, 19 small group rooms, and two computer labs.
