Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center Dedicates Replacement Hospital

Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center dedicated its 1,050,000 square foot replacement hospital in Los Angeles on June 4, 2007. Constructed to rigorous seismic standards, the 10-story facility was designed by I.M. Pei and C.C. Pei of Pei Partnership Architects with Perkins+Will as executive architects. Consultants include RBB Architects, Zakian Woo Architects, and Pickett Designs. The total project construction cost is approximately $829 million. Featuring advanced data access, imaging, diagnostics, and robotics technologies, the hospital is comprised of 520 private patient rooms, 154 intensive care beds, 70 recovery spaces, 61 short term beds, 23 operating suites, eight procedure suites, and six cardiac catheterization labs. The building will also house the Mattel Children’s Hospital at UCLA and the Lynda Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital at UCLA. Complete occupancy is expected in summer of 2008.
