Published 4/9/2007

The University of Texas (UT) Health Science Center at Houston and M.D. Anderson Cancer Center are partnering to create the Center for Advanced Biomedical Imaging Research. Located at the University of Texas Research Park at the Texas Medical Center in Houston, the six-story, 315,000-sf facility is being constructed in collaboration with GE Healthcare and the Texas Enterprise Fund. The center will house UT-Houston’s Department of Biomedical Engineering as well as research laboratories for biochemistry, synthetic and analytical chemistry, molecular and cellular biology, and facilities for clinical-grade production of imaging agents such as cellular tracers, radiopharmaceuticals, and nanoparticle-based agents. Ground was broken on the project in April 2007 with completion slated for late 2009.
