Published 3/29/2007

The University of Central Florida is designing a new $68 million College of Medicine facility at the UCF Health Sciences Campus at Lake Nona in Orlando. The project team includes Ellenzweig Associates of Cambridge as design architect and HuntonBrady Architects of Orlando as architect of record. The four-story, 100,000-sf building will house the medical library, classrooms, offices, and laboratories. The medical library includes study, computer, and collaboration areas. Instructional spaces are comprised of lecture halls, a clinical skills suite, anatomy lab suite, and simulation lab suite; student gathering spaces, lounges, and common areas; administrative and faculty offices; and an IT hub serving the entire Health Sciences Campus. The project is currently in the programming and conceptual design phase and is expected to open for the fall semester of 2009.
